All eyes turn to...
Filed under News. Posted Jun 20, 2010.Game of Thrones! Start of season 1 episodes filming begins July 26, in Belfast. Rumour is that HBO will be making casting announcements soon. They certainly are being very secretive, but a few leaks have turned up. They are being discussed at length over at Winter is Coming blog and on the Westeros site and forums. There's also a casting call out for extras. If you are Northern Ireland-based, you might want to check it out.
Black Death has turned into a critical hit for Sean and director Christopher Smith. Reviews have been overwhelmingly glowing. Still no word on a US debut, but the DVD will be available in Region 2 starting in late August (watch the news ticker for actual dates). Funny thing is that many of the Bean fans who have seen it and reported back to SBO are not fans of the horror genre. But, they unanimously report that this is a film that crosses genres and is excellent in its own right. So, even if you have an aversion to horror films in general, you should see this little surprise.
HBO has opened their Official Website for the series. You can obsess over the magnificent Ned Stark background photo and view the teaser trailer there or download your own copy from the Media Archives. You can find the original, hi-res photo in the SBO galley:

Age of Heroes and Soldiers of Fortune filming have both wrapped and according to a short interview, Sean is taking a bit of a holiday before he morphs into Lord Eddard Stark. Still to come before the end of the year is principal photography for The Magnificent Eleven and Shadows From the Sky , which has recently added Spartacus hottie, Manu Bennett, to the cast.
We should have a bit of a dry spell now that Sean is on holiday and then beginning Game of Thrones filming, but you never know what our favorite Sheffield lad will be up to. Hopefully, there will be some confirmation of the rumours of a new Sharpe soon. And keep an eye on the news ticker for the DVD release of Death Race 2: Frankenstein Lives any day now.
Meanwhile, you can occupy yourself with a little surprise that turned up just before the start of True Blood Season 3 Premiere on HBO last week:
In any event, stay tuned to SBO for all your Bean needs...till next time...Sable
